Attention Homeschoolers in Northeast Florida

Here are a couple of things that have come my way in the last week. If you live in the Jacksonville area, you may be interested in check them out.

Classical Conversations is coming to Jacksonville in the fall of 2007!

Classical Conversations is a systematic approach of teaching the tools of learning classically. The purpose of our study together is to know God and to make Him known. Our goal is to create a classical Christian home schooling community.

Have you considered joining a group of families who are learning classically? All our students meet with a trained tutor once a week during the school year. In the morning session, we use memorization skills for K4 through 6th Grade in multiple subjects (including history, geography, Latin, English grammar, math and science). Additionally, the children do science experiments and an art/music project each week. In the afternoon, our 3rd through 6th graders meet in a special enrichment program of writing (Institute for Excellence in Writing), English grammar and friendly math competition. Our 7th through 12th grade students participate in a Challenge Program to develop their dialectic and rhetorical skills. In order to get more information, check out Classical Conversations’ website at www.ClassicalConversations.com.

A free information meeting for parents will be held in the Meeting Room B of the Southeast Library ( 10599 Deerwood Park Blvd. ) on Saturday, March 24th at 10am. If you would like more information, you can email Jackie Bartlett at www.JBartlett@ClassicalConversations.com or call Jackie at (863) 402-0777.
